Feb. 8: Orleans-Gloucester Christian Women's Club meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Orleans United Church, 1111 Orleans Blvd., featuring You "Can Travel" with Ricky Rahman Music. Sundays: Rag and Bone Puppet Theatre presents On a Sunday Afternoon puppet plays for families, every second Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the music room of the Shenkman Arts Centre.
Wednesdays: Orleans Toastmasters - Do you want to lose your fear of public speaking, enhance your leadership skills, create a network of friends? Attend a one-hour meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at Orleans client service centre, 255 Centrum Blvd., room 328. Tuesdays: The Orleans Raconteurs Toastmasters Club meets the first, third, and fifth Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 3343 St. Joseph Blvd., in the Orleans police station in the second-floor boardroom .You are welcome to attend a session as our guest.

Jan. 27: Come out to have a big chuckle at this year's Chickle's GAL-a Comedy Event. In celebration and support of the work of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa, come watch amazing comedic talent on Jan. 27 at the Bronson Centre. Jan. 28: A fundraising concert performed by the 36-piece Salvation Army Legacy Brass Band along with vocal arrangements by the Bridge Builder's Quartet will take place at St. Martin's Anglican Church, 2120 Prince Charles Rd. corner of Lockhart Avenue north of the Carlingwood Shopping Centre. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. The band draws a full house wherever it plays. St. Martin's is wheelchair accessible by the front entrance off Lockhart.
